![]() I received an email that Spironolactone recently came out with a topical. I was taking BC pills to help my hormonal acne but it was making me nauseous and I wanted off, so I passed on the Spironolactone. I looked into spironolactone as well but you have to be on Birth Control(not get pregnant) bc it can cause side effects to baby. That is to say, it's good purchase and a great price, but it wouldn't be the first acid I recommend to you. I will also use it to do the Fiftysnails pores/sebaceous filaments treatment method. I'm only using it once or twice a week and only on my nose and chin, where I get the most breakouts. 2% BHA (salicylic acids) is less for general exfoliation/cell turnover and is more for acne/clogged pores. But something to keep an eye out for if your skin tolerates acids well.īTW no reason to give up your moisturizing toners - just layer them on top!ģ) I like the Farmacy deep sweep, but I wouldn't use it as an every day. It's almost an exact dupe for the cult and incredibly expensive Biologique Reherche p150 lotion toner. My favorite acid toner is the Tarte Knockout tingling treatment.but it's strong stuff. ![]() I'm a fan of Cosrx's whitehead power liquid. They also have the added benefit of usually being cheaper than lactic acids. If you find your skin reacts well to it, and you're looking for something stronger, work your way up to glycolic acids. I suggest starting with a lactic acid, the ordinary's is one of my favorites, as they are also very hydrating and thus are a gentler acid. You can use acids in your toner step, or use other more serumy acids. It's fine to have, and can probably bring down the ph of your cleanser a bit, but other than that, don't consider it a treatment.Ģ) I LOVE ACIDS! I think everyone's skin could benefit from acids. Unless it's like an "exfoliating mask" type of cleanser where you leave it on your skin for 10 minutes, it's absolutely useless as an acid treatment. Would I benefit from this addition or should I stick with what I have and not push my luck?Īny feedback you can give or recommendations please let me know! I want to know the good and the bad please :)ġ) AHA/BHA in your cleanser isn't doing a thing. while my skin has improved drastically it still needs more work (I used to have severe hormonal acne before starting this new skin care routine and it's improved a lot!) ![]() I'd be adding extra acids in the mix (or making it more potent). Would it be wise to sub my current toner for this Farmacy one? Maybe to use PM during my treatment session? I've also focused on hydration only for my toner (AM & PM). My Daytime cleanser, oils and moisturizer have no harsh acids and are just for hydration to replenish my skin after the PM treatments. I could use some feedback from all you beauty guru's!Īs far as "treatments" I'm currently using an AHA/BHA cleanser in the PM along with a niacinamide serum (2x daily) and a retinol moisturizer in the PM.
